Mark Stavros , MD

Medical Director

Dr. Stavros is board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Addiction Medicine.  He was awarded the Air Force Health Professions Scholarship and received his Medical Degree at Creighton University.  He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at St. Vincent’s Emergency Medicine Residency Program in Ohio.  Following clinical training, Dr. Stavros was stationed at Eglin Air Force Base where he practiced as an emergency physician and served as EMS director and medical director.  After his honorable discharge, he continued his work as an emergency physician in the panhandle of Florida.  He is currently the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at West Florida Hospital.  Dr. Stavros is an associate clinical professor at Florida State University College of Medicine and serves as both the Education and Clerkship Director of Emergency Medicine.  He actively practices addiction medicine and is owner of Gulf Coast Addiction Medicine.  He is also on the board of Big Bend Community Based Care, a managing entity for the Department of Children and Families.  He was recently selected as a Peer Mentor for the Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association, educating providers in the treatment of opiate and alcohol addiction
